Student Council needs donations!

The Children’s Hospital Auction needs donations!  Donation letters can be found on the Middle SchoolEdline page – please consider donating toys, sports memorabilia and the always-popular food!  All proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund. Read more here...

Nicky's Family Field Trip

The 8th grade will visit the South Side Works Cinema to see the documentary Nicky’s Family, a true story about a British man who helped organize the rescue of almost 700 Jewish children out of Austria in the days leading up to World War II.  This powerful film tells the story of Sir Nicholas Winton, the children he rescued, and the generations that were impacted by his humble and heroic gesture.  Students will go to see Nicky’s Family on December 17.

Are they Founders or Traitors?

English students are investigating primary documents from the American Revolution in order to determine if the signers of the Declaration of Independence were founders of a new nation or traitors to the British Crown.  Students will use the primary documents they read in order to write an argumentative essay that defends their claim.  Papers are due on December 20!

Holiday Service-learning project

A holiday math and English project needs your help!  Students will be donating baked cookies to a local organization (after converting a recipe accordingly).  We are in need of sprinkles or candies to decorate our cookies, any kind or flavor.   If you are out holiday grocery shopping, please pick up an extra bag and send it to Ms. Costantino’s room by December 16th.  Thank you for all of your support!
