AMS Student Council Magazine Sale

Although the magazine sale wrapped up last week, student council is still accepting magazine orders through next week. If your student has sold any magazines (or you or your family members would like to place an order) please feel free to do so! Checks should be made out to Avonworth Middle School.​

Magazine Sale

The annual student council magazine sale had its kick off on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 8!  If you are a current subscriber or are interested in getting any new titles please consider purchasing your magazines through our fundraiser.  All proceeds to go AMS Student Council and allow us to provide programming throughout the year, support classroom activities and organize social and charitable activities.  Please ask your students for their packet so that they can get you signed up to enjoy a subscription through our fundraiser!

Semi-formal Tomorrow!

Everyone is so excited for semi-formal!  The dance starts at 7 pm, and is 10 dollars at the door (which includes a snack and a glowstick!).  All proceeds from the dance are going to the Susan G Komen foundation.  Pictures are also going to be available for $5 per print (prints will be printed and delivered to students at school sometime in the week after the dance).  All students must attend school on the day of the dance, and all students must have a CURRENT social permission slip on file with the office.  That form is available here under the title “Social Permission Form”.  Please be sure to fill one out for your student so that they can come and join the fun on Friday!

Student Council needs donations!

The Children’s Hospital Auction needs donations!  Donation letters can be found on the Middle SchoolEdline page – please consider donating toys, sports memorabilia and the always-popular food!  All proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospital Free Care Fund. Read more here...

Student Council Holiday Project

This holiday season, Student Council is collecting school supplies for the children of Osman Hope, a non-profit organization that provides educational services for children in Honduras.  We are collecting materials for 25 students in one of Osman Hope’s shelters.  Some students have volunteered to “adopt a classmate”, which means that they are collecting classroom materials for one student and will be able to write that student a note to accompany their donation.  Osman Hope is requesting:

In addition, Osman Hope has also requested:

If you have any new or gently used materials listed above that you would like to donate to Osman Hope, please send them to Mrs. Hickman for collection by Nov 26, or if your family would like to “adopt a classmate” Mrs. Hickman can give you a name to write your note!  All collected materials will be sent to Honduras on December 5.
