Daily Text Messages to End 11/30

Starting Monday, 11/30, the 8 grade team will be sending students a weekly preview via Remind text messages. From that day forward, there will no longer be daily reminders. Students are encouraged to use their assignment books.

Changes to Daily Text Messages to Start Soon!

Starting November 30, 2015, the eighth grade team will transition from daily text messages to a weekly preview to be sent on Monday afternoon. Only big projects and assessments will receive a special update text during the week.

Students are encouraged to use their assignment book each class period to record homework. Also, the Grade 8 Team Google Calendar found on the 8^th grade page will be a resource for students to use. The calendar can be found here: http://www.edline.net/pages/Avonworth_Middle_School/Team_Teaching/8th_Grade

Every student can access the Google Calendar through their log-in. By going to the webpage calendar.google.com, students can enter their school Google Account information. 

Remind: 8th grade text messages for parents and students!

During the 2015-2016 school year, the 8th grade team will be using the free message system called Remind. Each afternoon, an update will be sent from the AMS 8 Team for parents and students. Homework, updates, and event information will be sent through the Remind system. Some messages will require multiple SMS messages to complete.

To sign-up for our text alerts, follow these simple directions:

On your phone send the text message, @amsgrade8, to 81010! Follow the directions when prompted!

Students and parents can also connect to Remind through their app and website!

On behalf of the 8th grade team, I want to welcome you to another great year at Avonworth Middle School! For our students and your son/daughter, this is an important year. It is our goal to help prepare our students for the challenges and demands of high school. Hopefully, your son/daughter will find the eighth grade to be an exciting time, as well as a time for growth and new experiences.

The Grade 8 team has expanded the Remind text message to include a daily reminder of homework. This is meant to supplement and not replace the assignment book. Students should use all of the resources available to track and complete classwork and homework, as well as read and study for all subjects. .
