Holiday Service-learning project

A holiday math and English project needs your help!  Students will be donating baked cookies to a local organization (after converting a recipe accordingly).  We are in need of sprinkles or candies to decorate our cookies, any kind or flavor.   If you are out holiday grocery shopping, please pick up an extra bag and send it to Ms. Costantino’s room by December 16^th.  Thank you for all of your support!

Our time with Mr. Craig Volkwein, our math student teacher from Duquense University is quickly coming to a close.  We were so happy that he came to Avonworth and wish him the best!  Mr. Volkwein’s last day is December 13^th.  He is a great math teacher hoping to find a position in the area.  Good luck, Mr. Volkwein.

American Revolution Historical Book Club

Eighth graders have their last American Revolution Historical Book Club session next Tuesday, December 10 in their reading classes.  Students should have their Session #4 page completed by that date.

Math Study Island assignment

·         Monday – put your hair in a high side pony tail with your favorite scrunchie and break out your best neon for 80’s day!

·         Tuesday – find your best and ugliest holiday sweater for ugly sweater day!

·         Wednesday – The Grinch can’t take away our spirit – especially on Whoville Hair Day!

·         Thursday – wear the outfit that best says “Let’s Go Lopes!” on spirit day!

·         Friday – get comfy and cozy for the auction on PJ Day!
